Del.ici.ous is deep, and it takes a while to see how this can be used in a library or for research on a personal level. I have not tagged anything before, except for pictures on Facebook and Flickr, and I can see how this site can become a time-saver as well as a huge asset to learning. I really like the fact that the user has so many choices - freeform allows room for chaos but allows for individualism. If the users can glean the basic ideas of the structure and add to them, this growth is creative and very educational as we learn from the best resource - ourselves!
Just a quick note about LibraryThing.com: I joined and wish I had MUCH more time because this could be addicting, yet a good place to get work done too!
